The mission of Smythe Academy of Arts and Sciences is to provide an enriched educational environment for an ethnically and socio economically diverse group of Kindergarten through Eighth grade students that emphasizes the arts, science, technology and community service.  Our school applies a holistic approach to education by involving the Parent, Community, and the Teacher in the academic and social development of the child using both standards based core curriculum and assessment coupled with project-based instruction and authentic assessment.  

 The vision of Smythe Academy is to provide a rigorous core academic program with high behavioral expectations that emphasizes cultural awareness and acceptance. The educational environment will include technology, fine and performing arts, physical education, science and service learning to support the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of a culturally aware student of the 21st century.
